The casa del Mutilato in Trapani

Genovese in the Casa del Mutilato project, by now freed from the opulence of the eclectic and secessionist style typical of the school of Ernesto Basile, moves towards a modernity without motiveless breaks with the past, drawing on a more linear twentieth-century style. Along the three elevations of the building, a design attitude which is more tactile than optical prevails, a sculptural play of pin-sharp geometric clarity, expressing Genovese´s deepest tendency towards plasticism.
